Serj brings over 25 years of tax expertise across a diverse range of practice areas. He began his career with KPMG and Inland Revenue before joining an oil company, where he managed tax operations for Shell’s companies across the Asia Pacific region.
Serj is passionate about simplifying the complexities of tax for his clients. He specialises in all things tax, including structuring transactions for tax efficiency and navigating Inland Revenue dealings to achieve optimal outcomes.
Drawing on his global experience, Serj provides practical insights into international tax structuring, transfer pricing, foreign investment strategies and global mobility, with a particular focus on transitional residency.
A Fellow Chartered Accountant of CAANZ, Serj holds a Bachelor of Management Studies from the University of Waikato and a Master of Taxation Studies from The University of Auckland. In January 2024, Serj became a Managing Director at Andersen New Zealand Ltd, further cementing his role as a trusted leader in tax advisory.
Outside Andersen
Outside of work, Serj enjoys spending time with his three children, who are actively involved in rowing and soccer. Weekends often find him cheering from the sidelines or pitching a tent by Lake Karapiro. His strong family values and down-to-earth nature, complement his professional expertise, making him a trusted and approachable advisor.
