Nick is an Associate Director specialising in corporate finance advisory - helping business owners navigate complex financial challenges and unlock opportunities for growth. He focuses on providing high-value, transformative advice that makes a measurable difference to clients and their teams. With extensive experience in finance and banking, he provides strategic financial guidance to businesses. His expertise includes transaction and debt advisory, funder engagement, governance, and CFO engagements supporting finance team development and succession.
His finance career began in the UK, where he worked in consultancy at Booz Allen & Hamilton before transitioning into financial services with Goldman Sachs and Standard Bank. Since returning to New Zealand in 2006, Nick has held senior finance and banking roles, including serving as Divisional CFO for Institutional Banking at BNZ and later as a banker managing high-value, complex commercial transactions.
Having worked with leading domestic and international blue-chip organisations, Nick has developed a strong performance-driven mindset and a deep understanding of how to apply best practice corporate business principles in commercial operations.
With a background working across diverse industries, Nick enjoys the opportunity to engage with passionate SME owners who deeply care about their businesses. He finds it hugely rewarding to contribute to their success stories and sees every engagement as a chance to learn and create better outcomes.
Nick’s approach is grounded in staying closely connected to the market – regularly meeting with business owners and professionals to understand the operational, circumstantial, and macro challenges they face. By applying these insights across different contexts, he helps clients stay ahead and protect their future.

His career is driven by a love of learning and continual improvement. His favourite quote captures his thoughtful approach to problem-solving: “If I had an hour to solve a problem, I’d spend 55 minutes thinking about the problem and five minutes thinking about solutions.”

Beyond the Numbers
Outside of work, Nick is passionate about time with his wife and two teenagers, the ocean and water sports – whether it’s swimming, diving, surfing, or getting tossed around in a good swell.
